📅 What’s Happening: Changes to Best Seller Rank (BSR) Updates
Since May, there have already been mentions of Amazon implementing less frequent updates to a listing’s BSR in order to reduce misinterpretations of rapid rank changes. In a recent announcement, Amazon said that it will only be updating BSR once a day, and sales data may be delayed for up to three days. This video from Self-Publishing 201 confirms that listings aren’t updating as often as they did before.
📈 Why It Matters:
This matters. A lot.
A lot of OA sellers have always gone with the notion that BSR drops are a key signal of sales velocity because they show how quickly a product is selling relative to others in its category. When BSR isn’t up-to-date, sellers lose one of the fastest, most reliable ways to estimate demand, increasing product sourcing risk.
📋 What to Do:
✅ When Reading Keepa Charts, Apply What Keepa Said
Keepa made a statement regarding the changes Amazon made to BSR reporting:

So, when reading Keepa charts:
Don’t rely on small, short‑term BSR drops as a clear sign of a recent sale anymore.
Look for longer‑term BSR trends (days/weeks) instead of minute‑to‑minute volatility.
Pair BSR with other Keepa data points like price history and buy box activity to confirm demand.
✅ Watch this Keepa Lesson from Chris Grant
In this video, Chris Grant breaks down his take that Keepa sales rank drops DO NOT equate to Amazon sales, and that explains how other metrics such as rising review counts and seller stockouts are better indicators of sales velocity.

🍄 Mental Snacks
Quick Bites. Better Mindset.
Most of the time, online arbitrage feels like a never-ending to-do list - sourcing, listing, prepping shipments, or dealing with returns. Most of the time, the easy, largely inconsequential stuff always gets done, while the more difficult, needle-moving tasks always get pushed to “tomorrow”.
But here’s the secret: The top sellers don’t shy away from the hardest tasks they have for the day. They make it the first item on their to-do list and dive into it to start their day. Productivity geeks refer to this as “eat the frog,” a habit that helps you stop wasting time on the easy stuff so that you can crush tasks that really matter to your business.
🐸 What’s Eat the Frog?
Inspired by Mark Twain’s “Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day,” it means knocking out your nastiest, most dreaded task before you do anything else like sorting out order and shipping emails or doom-scrolling Amazon on X. Made popular by Brian Tracy, this time management approach kills procrastination, clears mental clutter, and builds unstoppable momentum for the rest of your day.
✅ How to Start
Identify your biggest, most dreaded task for the day.
Commit to doing it before emails, social media, or any “easy wins.”
Use a timer or set a goal to make sure you focus on it without distractions.
Celebrate finishing your frog — it’s a big win!

Here’s a daily planner prompt you can use to apply “Eat the Frog”.
🧠 Bottom Line
“Eat the Frog” helps you conquer your day by getting the hardest thing done first.
Try it tomorrow and watch how your OA workflow transforms - less stress, more progress.
🍿 Snacktacular Spotlight
Each week, we shine a light on something (or someone) that’s helping Amazon sellers snack smarter.
This week’s spotlight is on….
💡 Seller Assistant - The OA Seller’s Best Friend
If you’ve been selling on Amazon for any length of time, you know the OA workflow can get messy.
You’ve got Keepa open in one tab, an IP alert database in another, Seller Central in a third, and your profit calculator buried somewhere in the mix. By the time you’ve bounced between them all, the lead you were looking at might already be gone.
Enter Seller Assistant — the all‑in‑one sourcing analysis tool designed to keep OA sellers fast, informed, and protected.
⏳🛡️💰 How Seller Assistant Saves Time, Prevents Mistakes, and Boosts Profits
1. Kill the Tab Chaos
The Problem: Sourcing can feel like a digital juggling act - a hazmat check here, variation sales data there, profit calculator somewhere else.
The Fix: Seller Assistant combines all of these features right on the Amazon product page:
Hazmat check
IP alerts
ROI and profit calculation
Buy Box and competition data
Stock count per seller
No more bouncing between 5 tools just to decide if a lead is worth it.
2. Avoid Costly IP Complaints
The Problem: One IP complaint can sideline your account, trigger inventory removals, or even lead to suspension.
The Fix: Seller Assistant’s built‑in IP Alert system flags risky ASINs before you ever buy. This is like cheap insurance - protecting your account health and saving you from expensive mistakes.
3. Get Numbers You Can Actually Trust
The Problem: BSR rank alone can be misleading. A “fast‑selling” product might only be moving for one dominant seller or one specific variation.
The Fix: Seller Assistant shows:
Competitor stock levels
Seller distribution in the Buy Box rotation
Variation‑level sales data
With this context, you can make sourcing decisions with confidence instead of relying on incomplete data.
4. Designed for Online Arbitrage
The Problem: Many Amazon tools are built for private label or wholesale sellers, leaving OA sellers to adapt and compromise.
The Fix: Seller Assistant is made with OA sellers in mind:
Reverse sourcing tools to find more leads from one ASIN
Quick hazmat and IP checks
Variation breakdowns without leaving the page
Every feature is built to fit directly into your sourcing flow.
Bottom Line:
Seller Assistant doesn’t just save time - it prevents costly mistakes and helps you spot winners faster. For OA sellers, it’s a small investment that pays for itself in time saved, IP complaints avoided, and better sourcing decisions.
📢 Try Seller Assistant today and streamline your sourcing workflow.
